Im planning on building some raised beds to plant an assortmant of vegetables. In reading about how to construct them, I found a bunch of articles debating the use of pressure treated wood- this freaked me out. Before 2003 some pressure treated wood contained arsenic which some people beleived would leach into the soil and contaminate your vegetables. But it seems that any chemicals that might leach would only do so a few inches from the wood. And usually most plants do not take it up from the soil, the ones that do in only small amounts, and the arsenic is stored in the parts we do not eat.- phheeww!
